Mrs. Theresa Scott holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and a Master of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Microbiology from Northern Caribbean University. She also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and has pursued certifications in Project Management, HACCP, and Basic Life Support (BLS).
Mrs. Scott joined AAIMS in 2012 as a faculty member, teaching General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry. Over the years, she has taken on increasing leadership responsibilities, serving as Executive Assistant to the Dean of Basic Sciences. She currently holds the position of Programme Manager for the Associate Degree and is the acting Chief Academic Officer. In this capacity, she oversees the development and administration of the Associate Degree program, ensuring it meets rigorous educational standards. Her role includes curriculum development, faculty management, and instruction. Under her leadership, the program has achieved and maintained accreditation by the University Council of Jamaica.
A dedicated educator, Mrs. Scott adopts a mentorship-based approach to teaching and is passionate about supporting students throughout their academic journey. Outside of her professional duties, she enjoys reading and music. She is an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she serves as Assistant Sabbath School Superintendent and Health Ministries Secretary.
